Job Description – Customer Service Executive (Freight Forwarding & Logistics)
Position: Customer Service Executive
Location: Kolkata
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Customer Service Executive with experience in freight forwarding and logistics operations. The candidate will be responsible for handling export/import documentation, coordinating with shipping lines, airlines, CHA, transporters, customers, and internal departments to ensure smooth shipment execution and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle Sea Export & Import documentation (FCL & LCL shipments)
- Manage Air Export & Import documentation
- Coordinate with shipping lines, agents, airlines, customers, and overseas partners
- Process and manage:
- Shipping Instructions
- VGM
- IGM / EGM filing
- BL amendment/correction procedures
- Prepare and process MBL & HBL documentation
- Coordinate with CHA (Custom House Agents) and transport vendors for shipment movement
- Maintain regular communication with shippers and consignees regarding shipment status
- Coordinate with the Accounts department for invoicing and payment follow-up
- Raise final invoices and ensure timely correspondence with customers for payment collection
- Arrange collection of Bills of Lading and handover to shipper/consignee
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Ensure timely updates and accurate documentation throughout shipment lifecycle
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in freight forwarding/logistics customer service operations preferred
- Strong knowledge of export/import shipping documentation and processes
- Good understanding of shipping and airline coordination procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong email drafting and correspondence skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Good coordination and follow-up skills

Pay: ₹10,363.97 - ₹15,000.54 per month
