We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Duty Doctor to provide continuous medical care across OPD, IPD, Emergency, ICU support, and ward management in a Multi-Speciality Hospital. The Duty Doctor will be responsible for assessing patients, initiating treatment plans, coordinating with consultants and nursing teams, and ensuring timely medical interventions while maintaining high standards of patient safety and clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, and manage patients in OPD, IPD, Emergency, and observation wards.
- Conduct initial patient assessment, medical history collection, and physical examinations.
- Prescribe medications, investigations, and treatment plans as per hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans where required.
- Respond immediately to medical emergencies, code blue situations, and critical care support.
- Coordinate with consultants, specialists, nurses, laboratory, radiology, and allied healthcare teams.
- Provide pre-admission and discharge medical evaluations.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) and patient documentation.
- Educate patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment, and preventive healthcare.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, NABH standards, and hospital clinical guidelines.
- Perform basic bedside procedures when required.
- Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary discussions.
- Prepare medical reports and handover notes during shift changes.
Qualifications
- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- Valid Medical Council Registration.
- ACLS/BLS certification preferred.
- 0–3+ years of experience in hospitals (freshers may apply depending on hospital policy).
