Position Overview
The Process Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end design and engineering related to thermal process systems. The role focuses on conducting process calculations, preparing detailed engineering documents, supporting proposal engineering, and ensuring the technical accuracy of all deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop detailed heat & mass balance, drying kinetics, airflow design, and thermal sizing calculations.
· Finalize operating parameters such as inlet/outlet temperatures, air velocities, residence times, and moisture removal rates.
· Perform burner sizing, fuel consumption calculations, airflow/fan selection, and drying cycle analysis.
· Prepare PFDs, P&IDs, process datasheets, and thermal design reports.
- Feasibility study for design and installation of WHRS by giving optimum heat available for power generation.
- Most appropriate feeding point location in calciner/main burner estimation for optimum using of alternative fuel in cement plant Optimize energy consumption and ensure compliance with emission and safety standards.
- Work closely with mechanical, process, and automation teams to translate design concepts into manufacturable systems.
- Support R&D efforts in prototype testing, performance evaluation, and scale-up design.
- Prepare technical documentation including design reports, datasheets, and performance specifications.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of heat transfer, combustion, drying kinetics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and instrumentation layouts.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel and engineering calculations.
- Good communication skills for client interaction and technical presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.Tech/B.E. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or equivalent.
- Exposure to engineering standards, safety norms, and industrial thermal design practices.
