Summary:
As a Business Process Architect, a typical day involves analyzing existing workflows and designing innovative business processes that align with organizational goals. This role requires creating detailed documentation that serves as a blueprint for implementing new processes and technologies. The professional collaborates closely with various business units to understand their needs and translate them into clear product requirements and use cases. Engaging in user and task analysis is a key part of the day, ensuring that the solutions developed accurately reflect the operational demands and enhance overall efficiency across the organization.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Industry Research & Insight Development
a. Conduct in-depth research on emerging trends in Mining sectors especially around leveraging AI in Mine to Market
b. Translate geological/geospatial and operational insights into business and IT imperatives that drive client value.
2. Innovation & Technology Application
a. Identify and apply cutting-edge technologies (e.g., AI (Agentic, Gen AI, ML/DL), IoT, digital twins, geospatial analytics) to solve industry-specific challenges.
b. Lead innovation initiatives that enhance exploration, mine planning, mine design and scheduling, extraction, mineral processing and sustainability practices.
3. Offering Development:
a. Co-create new offerings including technology assets, thought leadership, and rapid prototypes tailored to the Natural Resources industry.
b. Leverage geoscience expertise to shape solutions that address subsurface modeling, reserve and resource estimation, mine planning and design and environmental impact.
4. Business Process Management & Use Case Design:
a. Identify transformation themes and design integrated business scenarios, use cases, value mapping and user stories etc.
b. Develop prototypes that demonstrate the value of digital interventions in mining value chain.
5. Cross-Industry Innovation
a. Adapt best practices from other industries (e.g., energy, manufacturing) to the Natural Resources context.
b. Build compelling innovation narratives that resonate with client leadership.
6. Thought Leadership & IP Creation
a. Drive thought leadership by publishing insights, white papers, and patentable ideas.
b. Represent the firm at industry forums, seminars and contribute to the global innovation agenda.
Professional & Technical Skills:
1. Industry Experience:
a. Minimum 6–7 years of demonstrated experience in the / Mining industry.
b. Hands-on exposure across key domains such as Exploration, Mine Planning, Mine design & Scheduling, Technology Consulting, Digital Transformation, Process Control, Innovation, Manufacturing & Operations Excellence, Supply Chain etc.
2. Global Exposure:
a. Preference for candidates with international experience or those who have worked with global organizations in the Mining sector.
b. Experience in cross-cultural teams or multi-country project delivery is highly valued.
3. Functional & Process Expertise:
a. Strong understanding of Business Process Management (BPM) and industry and commodity specific processes.
b. Proven track record in process transformation, digital enablement, and functional excellence in areas such as Supply Chain, Plant Operations etc.
c. Experience in consulting, mine planning, corporate strategy, or technology implementation in Natural Resources is a plus.
4. Operational/Technical Systems Knowledge:
a. Hands on experience of leading mine planning and exploration suites including but not limited to Geovia Surpac, Minex, Minesched, Leapfrog, Deswik, Datamine suites, Maptek Vulcan etc.
b. Exposure to leading applications in Geospatial, Geotechnical or Drill & Blast software e.g., ArcGIS, Rocscience/Itasca, Maptek Blastlogic, Orica suites etc. will be considered as an added advantage
c. Familiarity with Operational Technology (OT) systems such as MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems), and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) platforms.
5. Digital & Emerging Technologies:
a. Exposure to digital technologies including Artificial Intelligence Data & Analytics, Mobility, Cloud Platforms, and , Industry 4.0 etc.
b. Ability to translate technology trends into actionable strategies for operational and business transformation.
Educational Qualification:
1. MBA (preferred) with M.SC / M.Sc Tech in from reputed institute within India or outside with proven track record in exploration management
2. Or Engineering (B.Tech/BE) degree in Mining Engineering with proven track record in mine planning & designing
3. CGPA of 6 and above / Percentage Marks of 60 and above throughout the education completed
4. Familiarity with mining planning or geomodelling software (e.g., Leapfrog Geo, Geovia Surpac, Minex, Maptek Vulcan, Minesched, Deswik, Datamine etc. GIS tools (Arc GIS, Global Mappers etc.), and GIM suites (aCQuire, Micromine Geobank etc.) & data platforms.
