Your Opportunity: Event Delegate Calling Intern
A short word on the role.
Hurun India hosts some of the most considered gatherings in the country. List launches, forums, and closed-door conversations that bring together founders, investors, and industry leaders. Getting the right people into the room is what makes those rooms worth being in.
This role does exactly that. You will be on the phone, on email, and in conversation with senior business leaders every day, inviting them to participate, profiling their companies before outreach, and following through until they walk in.
What you will do:
→ Identify entrepreneurs and industry leaders aligned with each event
→ Profile companies carefully before reaching out
→ Make outbound calls, send formal invitations, and follow up
→ Liaise with delegates from first contact to attendance
→ Build and maintain a clean database of industry contacts
→ Coordinate with internal teams so delegate lists match event goals
→ Keep accurate records of every outreach and confirmation
What I am looking for:
Someone who speaks well. Not in the practiced, scripted way. In the real way. Clear English, a steady voice, a tone that puts the person on the other end of the line at ease within the first few seconds. The kind of person you want to keep talking to.
Someone who is unafraid of the phone. This role lives on outbound calls. You will dial people who have never heard of you, introduce yourself with confidence, and hold their attention long enough to make a clean, respectful invitation. You will hear no, often, and stay just as warm on the next call.
Someone who follows through. The difference between a good delegate acquisition executive and a great one is not the first call. It is the second, the third, the polite reminder a week later, the calendar invite that goes out at exactly the right time. The person we are looking for treats follow-up as the actual job, not an afterthought.
Someone who is naturally hospitable. The best people in this role are former hotel front-desk staff, former cabin crew, former customer-experience leads, former call-centre executives. People who know what it feels like to receive a stranger and make them feel looked after. That instinct cannot be trained. We are looking for people who already have it.
Someone who is organised. You will be tracking many leaders, many companies, many events at the same time. Names, titles, companies, dates, dietary preferences, travel notes, RSVPs. Nothing should slip. The right person enjoys the small satisfaction of a clean spreadsheet.
Someone who is curious about Indian business. You do not need to know who runs which company on day one. But you should be the kind of person who, after one week here, starts to recognise the names. Curiosity goes a long way in this role.
A Bachelor's degree in any discipline. No corporate experience required. If you have worked in a call centre, at a hotel front desk, in hospitality, in a customer-facing retail role, or anywhere that taught you how to host a stranger and hold a conversation, you should apply.
This is a full-time, on-site role in Mumbai. Training will be provided.
