Head Baker – Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Head Baker to lead our bakery operations and create exceptional artisanal baked goods for our specialty café.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of products including:
- Croissants and laminated pastries
- Sourdough breads and artisan loaves
- Bagels
- Cakes, desserts, cookies, and pastries
- Seasonal and specialty bakery items
- Develop and maintain recipes with consistent quality and presentation.
- Manage daily production schedules and inventory.
- Ensure proper fermentation, proofing, baking, and storage processes.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
- Train and supervise bakery staff when required.
- Monitor ingredient quality and minimize wastage.
- Collaborate on new menu development and product innovation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Baker or Head Baker in a café, bakery, hotel, or artisan bread program.
- Strong knowledge of sourdough fermentation, lamination, pastry production, and dessert preparation.
- Ability to work independently and manage production timelines.
- Passion for craftsmanship, quality, and continuous learning.
- Attention to detail and consistency.
