Job Description
XtraTrust is looking for an experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our database infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in MySQL administration, replication, clustering, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and Linux environments.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring database availability, security, scalability, and performance in production environments.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain MySQL database servers
- Monitor database performance, availability, and security
- Manage MySQL replication setups (Master-Slave / Master-Master)
- Configure and maintain MySQL clustering environments
- Perform query optimization, indexing, and database tuning
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams
- Maintain database architecture and operational documentation
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a MySQL DBA
- Strong expertise in MySQL database administration
- Hands-on experience with replication and clustering
- Experience in database performance tuning and optimization
- Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures
- Good understanding of Linux/Unix environments
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and automation scripting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with high-availability database environments
- Knowledge of Percona tools, MySQL 8.0, or Galera Cluster
- Basic shell scripting knowledge
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Relevant certifications will be an added advantage
