About the Role
Grandly Designers & Contractors is looking for an experienced and technically strong Interior Designer who can independently handle the complete design-development process of interior projects.
The ideal candidate must be equally comfortable with 2D layouts, detailed working drawings, and 3D visualization/modeling. This role requires someone who can convert design concepts into technically executable drawings and coordinate effectively with the site and execution teams.
The candidate should be capable of taking ownership of drawings and design deliverables rather than working only as a drafting or 3D support resource.
Key Responsibilities
1. 2D Planning & Layout
- Prepare detailed furniture and interior layouts.
- Develop space planning and functional layouts for residential and commercial projects.
- Prepare ceiling, flooring, partition and other relevant layout drawings.
- Ensure proper dimensions, circulation, clearances and site feasibility.
- Modify layouts based on client requirements and site conditions.
2. Working & Technical Drawings
- Prepare detailed working drawings required for site execution.
- Develop furniture and joinery drawings with dimensions and specifications.
- Prepare wall elevations, sections and detailed construction drawings.
- Prepare ceiling, flooring, partition and other interior detailing drawings.
- Develop drawings with sufficient technical information for contractors and site teams.
- Ensure drawings are coordinated and consistent across disciplines.
3. 3D Design & Visualization
- Develop detailed 3D models of interior spaces.
- Create realistic 3D views/renders for client presentations.
- Translate 2D layouts and design concepts into accurate 3D models.
- Develop furniture, false ceiling, wall treatments, lighting and material details in 3D.
- Make design revisions based on client and project requirements.
4. Design Coordination
- Coordinate between design, site execution, vendors and project teams.
- Visit project sites whenever required to understand site conditions and verify dimensions.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Incorporate site measurements and execution requirements into drawings.
- Coordinate with vendors/fabricators for technical detailing wherever required.
5. Project Ownership
- Manage assigned design deliverables and ensure timely submission.
- Maintain proper drawing versions and revisions.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, practical and execution-ready.
- Work within project timelines and coordinate with the Design & Execution Head.
- Take responsibility for the quality and completeness of design documentation.
Required Skills
Must Have:
- Minimum 2.5-3 years of professional experience in interior design.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and 2D drafting.
- Strong understanding of interior working drawings and detailing.
- Good command over SketchUp / 3D modeling software.
- Good understanding of interior materials, furniture, finishes and construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Ability to independently develop a project from layout to 3D and working drawings.
- Good understanding of site execution and practical construction.
- Strong attention to dimensions, detailing and technical accuracy.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of V-Ray / Enscape / Lumion / D5 Render or similar rendering software.
- Experience with commercial interiors such as restaurants, cafés, offices, retail, hospitality or institutional projects.
- Experience coordinating with contractors, fabricators and vendors.
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ideal Candidate
We are specifically looking for someone who is not limited to only one aspect of design.
The candidate should be able to:
2D Layout → 3D Design → Working Drawings → Site Coordination
They should understand how a design moves from an initial concept to an executable project on site.
Candidates who are strong only in 3D visualization, only in AutoCAD drafting, or only in site supervision will not be the ideal fit for this position.
