The Biochemistry Lab Technician is responsible for performing routine and specialized biochemical investigations on patient samples. The role ensures accurate, timely, and reliable test results while maintaining quality standards, laboratory safety, and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Key ResponsibilitiesSample Collection & Processing
- Receive, label, and process patient samples (blood, urine, body fluids)
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of samples
- Verify patient information before testing
Technical & Analytical Duties
- Perform routine biochemistry tests such as:
- Blood glucose, lipid profile, liver function tests (LFT), renal function tests (RFT)
- Electrolytes and enzymatic assays
- Operate and maintain automated analyzers and laboratory equipment
- Conduct calibration and internal quality control (IQC) procedures
- Identify abnormal results and report them to senior staff
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to NABH / NABL / JCI guidelines
- Maintain quality standards in all laboratory processes
- Participate in external quality assurance programs (EQAS)
Documentation & Reporting
- Record and validate test results accurately in LIS (Laboratory Information System)
- Prepare and release reports within defined turnaround time (TAT)
- Maintain proper documentation of test records and logs
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of lab instruments
- Coordinate with biomedical/technical teams for servicing and repairs
- Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of the laboratory
Safety & Infection Control
- Follow biosafety and infection control protocols
- Proper disposal of biomedical waste as per regulations
- Use PPE and ensure a safe working environment
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
