We are seeking a skilled and motivated Django Backend Developer (Python, Django) to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services for Quality Management System (QMS)-driven solutions. This role is hands-on and backend-focused, with strong emphasis on API design, data modeling, backend architecture, security, and reliability. You will work closely with frontend engineers, database engineers, quality stakeholders, and product owners to translate business and regulatory requirements into robust backend systems.

Join the Web Solutions team, the digital engineering arm of DSS (Datacom & Specialty Solutions) >> CSBU (Copper Solutions Business Unit), building enterprise platforms that enable quality, compliance, and manufacturing excellence across Cable Assembly operations. As part of the backend development group, you will build the foundation that powers critical quality workflows and enterprise-grade applications.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and Django.
- Build and manage RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF) to support QMS modules.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access controls for enterprise applications.
- Ensure backend systems meet security, reliability, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers & database engineers to ensure seamless end-to-end integration.
- Write unit, integration, and API tests using PyTest / Django Test Framework.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and production defects.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and best practices.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment readiness, and environment configuration.
- Maintain technical documentation for backend architecture, APIs, and data models.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- in backend development.
- Strong programming experience in Python.
- Hands-on experience with the Django framework in production environments.
- Strong experience with Django REST Framework (DRF).
- Proven experience in REST API design and development, including versioning and error handling.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT / OAuth and role-based access control.
- Strong understanding of backend architecture, service-oriented design, and security best practices.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests using PyTest / Django Test Framework.
- Familiarity with Git and SDLC practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy, reliability, and maintainability.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience building backend systems for Quality Management Systems (QMS) applications.
- Experience with Celery / Redis or other asynchronous processing frameworks.
- Familiarity with API security standards and audit logging.
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum development environments.
