1. Job Purpose
We are looking for a technically strong 3D & R&D Design Engineer responsible for the design, development, modification, and improvement of bottle packaging and bottling machinery. The candidate will work on 3D machine design, mechanical assemblies, new product development, machine automation integration, and R&D activities.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. 3D Machine Design
- Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies of packaging and bottling machines.
- Design machine structures, frames, shafts, rollers, conveyors, guides, brackets, fixtures, tanks, and mechanical assemblies.
- Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and fabrication drawings.
- Ensure proper dimensions, tolerances, fits, material specifications, and manufacturability.
- Modify existing machine designs according to customer requirements and production feasibility.
B. Machine Design – Key Equipment
The candidate should be capable of working on the design and development of machines such as:
- Bottle Filling Machines
- Bottle Packaging Machines
- SPM (Special Purpose Machines)
- Bottle Washing Machines
- Bottle Sealing/Capping Machines
- Automatic/Manual Bottling Lines
- Bottle Conveyors
- Labeling Machines
- Inspection Machines
- Liquid Filling Systems
- Rotary/Linear Filling Systems
- Other customized packaging and automation machinery
C. R&D / New Product Development
- Develop new machine concepts based on customer and market requirements.
- Improve existing machines for higher speed, accuracy, reliability, and productivity.
- Conduct design calculations and feasibility studies.
- Develop prototypes and coordinate prototype testing.
- Identify design problems and implement engineering solutions.
- Reduce machine manufacturing cost through design optimization.
- Research new mechanisms, components, materials, and automation solutions.
- Maintain proper documentation of all R&D and design changes.
D. Mechanical & Automation Integration
- Understand integration of mechanical systems with pneumatic, electrical, servo, VFD, sensors, PLC, and automation systems.
- Select suitable bearings, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic cylinders, valves, sensors, couplings, chains, sprockets, etc.
- Coordinate with electrical/automation engineers for machine functionality.
- Ensure mechanical design supports machine safety and maintenance requirements.
E. Production & Manufacturing Support
- Coordinate with Production, Fabrication, Purchase, Assembly, and Quality teams.
- Provide technical clarification to production and assembly teams.
- Resolve fabrication and assembly-related design issues.
- Visit shop floor during machine assembly and testing.
- Make necessary design modifications based on actual machine performance.
- Ensure drawings and BOMs are released accurately and on time.
3. Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of 3D Mechanical Design and Machine Design.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks / Solid Edge / Inventor / AutoCAD / ZWCAD or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, fits, welding, fabrication, machining, and sheet-metal design.
- Understanding of bearings, shafts, gears, chains, sprockets, couplings, pneumatic components, conveyors, and drive systems.
- Ability to read and prepare engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of machine design calculations.
- Understanding of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly).
- Basic understanding of PLC, sensors, VFD, servo systems, and industrial automation.
4. Preferred Experience
Experience in machine manufacturing / packaging machinery / bottling machinery / SPM / automation equipment will be strongly preferred.
Candidates who have worked on bottle filling, bottle washing, bottle sealing, labeling, conveyors, packaging machines, or customized SPMs will be given preference.
5. Educational Qualification
B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

8. Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should not be only a 2D draftsman. We are looking for a hands-on 3D Machine Design + R&D Engineer who can understand machine mechanisms, develop complete machine assemblies, create manufacturing drawings, and participate in actual machine development and testing.
