Many assignments closely align with the technical skill sets used in oil and gas, petrochemical, and heavy industrial environments, giving engineers a clear pathway to advance across diverse markets.
Responsibilities:
- Perform civil and environmental design from conceptual development through detailed design and construction support, including grading, utilities, drainage, and site development.
- Develop and review design drawings such as site layouts, grading plans, excavation drawings, road plans and profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
- Support site civil design for facilities such as solid waste infrastructure, stormwater systems, resource recovery facilities, and water/wastewater-related structures.
- Work with project teams to modify plans, designs, and production drawings in response to budget constraints, regulatory requirements, or client needs.
- Research and compile project data, perform engineering calculations, and assist in preparing technical reports, studies, and cost estimates to help clients evaluate project options.
- Lead and provide technical support for civil and environmental permitting efforts in coordination with US teams.
- Assist with project management tasks, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and communication with US engineering leads.
- Lead interdisciplinary coordination and clash checks; help resolve conflicts with other engineering disciplines.
- Provide construction phase support services, including preparation of construction quality assurance (CQA) documentation.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Support relationship-building with US offices and regulatory stakeholders as part of ongoing project work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in site civil design for industrial, infrastructure, environmental, or oil and gas–related facilities.
- Experience with drainage, grading, underground utilities, and large site development projects. Candidates with backgrounds in oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, or other heavy industrial facilities are also strongly encouraged to apply.
- Working knowledge of US codes and standards.
- Proficient in Civil 3D, StormCAD, Civil Storm, ESRI ArcOnline, and Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote).
