Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Ionic/Cordova Mobile Developer with strong expertise in Ionic 6, Angular 14, Cordova, TypeScript, and mobile application development to work on an existing enterprise mobile application.
The developer will be responsible for upgrading the application to Android Target SDK 36, implementing multi-language support, resolving Android/iOS compatibility issues, and ensuring the application remains stable, secure, and production-ready across both platforms.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Android SDK upgrades, Gradle, AndroidX, Cordova plugins, ngx-translate, REST APIs, Git, and mobile debugging.
Key ResponsibilitiesAndroid Target SDK 36 Upgrade
- Upgrade the existing application from Android Target SDK 35 to SDK 36.
- Update Android build configurations and project dependencies.
- Review and resolve compatibility issues introduced by the Android SDK upgrade.
- Validate and update Cordova plugins for SDK 36 compatibility.
- Troubleshoot Android build, runtime, and dependency-related issues.
- Ensure compatibility with AndroidX and current Android build requirements.
- Perform comprehensive regression testing.
- Generate and validate production-ready Android builds.
Multi-Language Support
- Implement multilingual support using ngx-translate.
- Replace hardcoded UI text with translation keys.
- Create and integrate translation files for:
- English
- Swedish
- Norwegian
- Finnish
- German
- Implement language selection functionality.
- Ensure selected language preferences are persisted.
- Localize date, time, and number formats where applicable.
- Review UI layouts to ensure translated content displays correctly.
- Perform multilingual testing across Android and iOS platforms.
Mobile Application Development & Maintenance
- Maintain and enhance the existing Ionic 6 / Angular 14 application.
- Develop reusable and maintainable components using TypeScript, HTML, SCSS/CSS, and Angular.
- Work with Angular Router, Forms, RxJS, and other components of the existing technology stack.
- Integrate and maintain REST APIs.
- Manage and troubleshoot Cordova plugins and native integrations.
- Resolve application bugs and performance issues.
- Ensure consistent application behavior across Android and iOS.
Testing & Deployment
- Conduct functional, regression, compatibility, and device-level testing.
- Test applications across different Android and iOS devices.
- Troubleshoot build and runtime issues.
- Work with Android Studio and Gradle for Android builds and debugging.
- Support production build generation and deployment.
- Ensure application quality before release.
Required Technical Skills
- 5+ years of experience with Ionic Framework
- Strong hands-on experience with Ionic 6
- Strong experience with Angular 12+, preferably Angular 14
- Strong experience with Cordova and Cordova plugin integration
- Excellent knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript
- Strong knowledge of HTML5 and SCSS/CSS
- Experience with Android Target SDK upgrades
- Experience troubleshooting Android compatibility issues
- Good understanding of Gradle and Android build configuration
- Knowledge of AndroidX
- Hands-on experience with ngx-translate
- Experience developing multilingual mobile applications
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Experience integrating REST APIs
- Good understanding of RxJS, Angular Router, and Angular Forms
- Experience with Git/source control
