Segment EHS Manager – RC-IN SI EA PA Solutions
Position Summary
The Segment EHS Officer will lead and drive Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) excellence across the SI EA PA Solutions business, covering project execution, retrofit, field services, O&M activities, and customer sites. The role will support key portfolios such as CRP, FRTU, FRT, Protection Relays, Retrofit & Modernization projects, Service Operations, Testing & Commissioning, Electrical Shutdowns, and MV/HV Electrical Installations while ensuring compliance with Siemens EHS standards, statutory requirements, and customer-specific expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive implementation of Siemens EHS Management Systems, legal compliance requirements, and Zero Harm culture across project, service, retrofit, and O&M activities.
- Provide EHS support for CRP, FRTU, FRT, Relay, Retrofit, Testing & Commissioning, Electrical Shutdown, and Service projects from bidding through execution and handover.
- Review and approve EHS plans, risk assessments, method statements, work permits, and critical activity controls for project and service operations.
- Coordinate with Project & service management team and plan EHS resources proactively to support and enhance EHS oversight as per siemens and customer requirements.
- Support site mobilization activities including kick-off meetings, site assessments, EHS inspections, and implementation of project-specific safety requirements.
- Lead contractor management initiatives, including contractor qualification, onboarding, performance monitoring, engagement programs, improvement roadmaps, and contractor optimization implementation in coordination with SCM and business stakeholders.
- Conduct periodic EHS assessments, risk assessments, coordinate for Mgt. SWAT visits, and management reviews to identify improvement opportunities and ensure effective CAPA implementation.
- Drive incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, lesson learning, and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Organize EHS training, awareness programs, leadership engagements, and contractor capability-building initiatives to strengthen safety culture across projects and service operations.
- Plan, document and Monitor EHS performance Indicator, KPI and strategic targets, through dashboards, KPI reviews, management reporting, and MIS communication to segment management and EHS leadership.
- Coordinate with customers, statutory authorities, business leadership, project managers, service managers, and regional EHS teams on EHS-related matters.
- Support emergency preparedness, crisis management, sustainability initiatives, and continual improvement programs across the segment.
Qualifications & Experience
• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics, Power Systems, or related discipline with Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) or equivalent EHS qualification from State technical board, central government institutes.
- 10–12 years of EHS experience in electrical EPC projects, MV/HV systems, field services, retrofit, testing & commissioning, out of this 10-12 years min. 3 years as team leaders or Manager.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, relevant statutory EHS requirements, eg: CEA and BOCW etc contractor management, incident investigation, and risk management.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills with the ability to work across multiple sites and project locations.
