The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the daily accounting operations of the cinema theatre, including cash reconciliation, revenue accounting, expense tracking, vendor payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role ensures timely reporting and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily theatre revenue, including ticket sales, food & beverage (F&B), and other income.
- Reconcile cash collections, POS transactions, and online payment gateways.
- Prepare daily cash reports and bank deposit statements.
- Process vendor invoices and assist with accounts payable.
- Maintain accounts receivable records where applicable.
- Record journal entries and update accounting software.
- Assist in bank reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
- Monitor petty cash and employee reimbursements.
- Verify purchase bills, inventory invoices, and supporting documents.
- Assist in GST/TDS documentation and statutory compliance (as applicable).
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Coordinate with theatre operations, box office, and F&B teams regarding financial transactions.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, or Finance.
- 0–2 years of accounting experience (fresh graduates may be considered).
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally ERP/TallyPrime, Zoho Books, Busy, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in the entertainment, retail, hospitality, or multiplex industry is an advantage.

Working Conditions
- May require working on weekends, public holidays, and evening shifts based on theatre operations.
- Occasional extended hours during month-end closing or audits.
