Role Overview
We are looking for a versatile, creative, and highly skilled In-House Video Editor to join our production house in Mumbai. This role demands a visual storyteller who is equally comfortable churning out rapid, engaging social media edits as they are crafting high-production-value commercial, narrative, or corporate projects.
As an in-house team member, you will collaborate closely with directors, producers, and creative directors from pre-production through final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Editing: Handle the entire post-production pipeline, including footage sorting, rough cuts, fine cuts, audio syncing, sound design, basic color grading, and final rendering.
- Multi-Format Adaptability: Deliver high-quality edits across various formats—ranging from quick-turnaround social reels/shorts (9:16) to long-form landscape videos (16:9), corporate films, and commercial ads.
- Asset Management: Systematically organize, back up, and archive raw footage, project files, and digital assets on local and network storage devices.
- Collaboration & Iteration: Work alongside internal creative teams to understand project briefs, implement feedback efficiently, and maintain a consistent brand voice or creative vision.
- Pacing & Storytelling: Ensure seamless continuity, precise pacing, and impactful sound design to maximize viewer retention and emotional resonance.
Required Skills & Software Expertise
We expect our lead editor to be highly proficient across standard industry tools, specifically:
- Primary NLEs: Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve (Apple Final Cut Pro is a plus).
- Motion Graphics & VFX: Solid working knowledge of After Effects for kinetic typography, transitions, lower-thirds, and basic visual effects/compositing.
- Audio & Color: Competency in basic audio clean-up/mixing (Audition or within the NLE) and fundamental color grading/correction (Lumetri Color or DaVinci Resolve color page).
- Graphic Support: Familiarity with Photoshop or Illustrator to slice and prepare assets for video integration.
Qualifications & Candidate Profile
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of professional editing experience within a production house, agency, or digital media studio.
- Portfolio: A strong, diverse showreel demonstrating your editing style, pacing, transitions, and ability to handle different visual genres is mandatory.
- Location: Must be based in Mumbai for full-time, on-site/in-office work.
- Soft Skills: Strong time-management skills to handle multiple overlapping deadlines, openness to constructive critique, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
