About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and student-focused Academic Counsellor to join our EdTech team. The candidate will be responsible for counselling students and working professionals regarding UG & PG courses, understanding their career goals, recommending suitable programs, and converting enquiries into admissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel students and working professionals regarding UG and PG courses/programs.
- Understand students' academic background, career goals, and course requirements.
- Explain course structure, eligibility, curriculum, duration, fees, and career opportunities.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls and follow up with prospective students.
- Convert qualified leads into successful admissions/enrolments.
- Maintain regular follow-ups with interested candidates through calls and WhatsApp.
- Handle student/parent queries and resolve objections effectively.
- Maintain accurate lead and counselling records in CRM/Excel.
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly admission/conversion targets.
- Coordinate with the academic and admission teams to ensure a smooth enrolment process.
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with students throughout the admission journey.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Academic Counselling, Education Counselling, Inside Sales, Admission Counselling, or EdTech sales.
- Experience in UG/PG course counselling will be preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong convincing, negotiation, and objection-handling abilities.
- Target-oriented and comfortable working in a sales-driven environment.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel/CRM tools.
- Ability to counsel students and understand their career aspirations.
- Candidates from EdTech, Higher Education, Online Education, or Education Sales backgrounds are preferred.
