Main Purpose of Job :
The Power BI Analyst (Senior) for the Hub Operations domain is the primary analytics resource for a multi-stakeholder reporting environment. Working within the federated analytics model and in close partnership with the Central Data Team (CDT), this role translates operational and commercial data into trusted Power BI dashboards and semantic models. The analyst builds on certified Gold-layer datasets, maintains workspace governance, and ensures that reporting reflects the operational realities of port agency and hub services. The role requires a degree of autonomy, the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities, and the capability to mentor junior colleagues as the domain grows.
Key Accountabilities :
Requirement gathering and prioritisation: work directly with the VP Hub Operations and domain stakeholders to capture, validate and prioritise reporting requirements; translate business needs into structured Power BI solutions.
Data modelling: connect to certified Gold-layer datasets provided by the CDT; design star and galaxy schemas; develop DAX measures aligned to Hub Operations KPIs including turnaround times, vessel calls, port agency performance and operational throughput.
Report development: design and build intuitive, production-grade Power BI dashboards and reports; implement and test row-level security (RLS); configure bookmarks, audiences and personalised views as required.
Governance and workspace hygiene: apply sensitivity labels, endorsement policies and naming conventions; organise workspace folders; archive outdated assets; coordinate with the CDT on capacity and access control decisions.
Deployment and release management: promote content through DevTestProd pipelines; prepare release notes, document changes and perform functional and RLS testing prior to each promotion.
Cross-functional collaboration: work with the CDT on certified dataset requests, data quality issues and platform roadmap alignment.
Mentoring: provide guidance to junior analysts in the domain; contribute to shared templates, standards and knowledge documentation.
Maritime and operational relevance: apply knowledge of port agency operations, hub services and ISS business processes to ensure KPIs and metrics are contextually accurate and operationally meaningfult.
Key Deliverables :
- High-quality, well-documented Power BI reports and dashboards aligned to Hub Operations priorities and stakeholder requirements.
- Certified semantic models and reusable DAX measures that conform to CDT governance standards.
- Documented release notes and testing sign-off for each deployment cycle.
- A governed workspace with appropriate access roles, refresh schedules and endorsement policies in place.
