About the Role
Meritus AI is looking for a Web Developer with extensive 4+ years of experience in web development and a strong background in managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) for a full time in-house role. This role involves leading web development projects, integrating and optimizing LMS solutions, and ensuring seamless functionality between web applications and LMS platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical skills, strategic vision, and the ability to manage complex LMS implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership:
- Design and development of advanced web applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Architect and implement solutions that integrate seamlessly with LMS platforms.
- Conduct code reviews, provide mentorship, and uphold best practices in web development.
- LMS Management:
- Oversee the implementation, customization, and maintenance of LMS platforms
- Manage LMS user roles, permissions, and integrations with other systems (e.g., CRM, ERP).
- Ensure LMS compliance with educational standards and regulations.
- Project Management:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements related to both web applications and LMS.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring effective resource management and timely delivery.
- Identify and address risks and issues, making data-driven decisions to keep projects on track.
- Integration and Optimization:
- Design and develop APIs and integration points between web applications and LMS platforms.
- Optimize LMS performance, including data management, user experience, and reporting capabilities.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployment and integration processes.
- Team Collaboration and Mentorship:
- Mentor and support junior developers, offering guidance on technical issues and career development.
- Foster a collaborative environment, facilitating communication between development teams, instructional designers, and other stakeholders.
- User Experience and Design:
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure that web applications and LMS interfaces are user-friendly and aligned with design standards.
- Implement responsive and accessible design practices to enhance the user experience across various devices and platforms.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for both web applications and LMS configurations.
- Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, technical issues, and system performance to stakeholders and management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in web development technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Expertise in server-side development with languages and frameworks like Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails, or .NET.
- Strong knowledge of database management (SQL and NoSQL) and data integration.
- LMS Expertise:
- In-depth experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard) and their customization.
- Understanding of LMS functionalities such as course management, user management, and reporting.
- Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI (Tin Can API), and other e-learning standards.
- Tools and Technologies:
- Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git), build tools (e.g., Webpack), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with a focus on team collaboration and development.
- Experience:
- Extensive experience in web development, including a history of managing and delivering complex projects.
- Significant experience with LMS platforms, including implementation, management, and optimization.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications are a plus).
