- Job Summary
Senior Executive – Gemstone Procurement will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and purchasing high-quality color gemstones (precious & semi-precious) at competitive prices. The role requires deep knowledge of gemstone quality, market trends, and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure color gemstones (Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, Semi-precious stones, etc.)
- Evaluate gemstones based on:
- Color, clarity, cut, carat
- Origin and certification
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, traders, and vendors
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and bulk deals
- Ensure cost optimization without compromising quality
- Monitor market trends, demand-supply, and pricing fluctuations
- Coordinate with design and production teams for requirement planning
- Maintain accurate purchase records, invoices, and stock details
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
- Travel for sourcing (domestic & international, if required)
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of gemstones & color grading
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
- Market awareness of global gemstone trends
- Analytical mindset for pricing and cost evaluation
- Good communication and relationship-building skills
- Attention to detail and quality assessment
Qualifications
- Graduate / Diploma in Gemology (Preferred)
- Certification from recognized institutes (e.g., GIA, IGI) is a plus
Experience
- 4–8 years of experience in gemstone procurement / jewelry industry
- Experience in handling color stones sourcing is mandatory
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
