Profile 1: FOC (Fiber Optic Cable) Network Architect & Designer
Location: Vadodara / Faridabad – India Offshore
Job Description:
- Design and engineer high-capacity fiber optic networks to enable low-latency connectivity
across Oil & Gas production facilities
- Lead route and site surveys to assess feasibility, cable pathways, environmental constraints,
and constructability (onshore/offshore)
- Define end-to-end fiber architecture covering backbone, distribution, and access layers
- Develop Bills of Material (BoM) and support vendor evaluation and selection for fiber optic
systems
- Coordinate with Civil and Electrical disciplines on junction box placement, trenching, and
secure cable deployment in hazardous environments
- Manage customer access, permitting, and statutory approvals in coordination with relevant
authorities
- Identify HSE and constructability risks, providing mitigation recommendations to engineering
and project teams
- Act as the technical interface across customers, EPC disciplines, and offshore engineering
teams
- Provide structured knowledge transfer to offshore design and execution teams to ensure
delivery continuity and quality
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 12+ years of experience in fiber optic planning and deployment.
- It is mandatory to have hands-on experience on DWDM, FTTX and Fiber planning in
industrial and urban environments.
- It is desirable to have Expertise in OT (Operational Technology) networks in petrochemical
environments but not mandatory
- Familiarity with tools like ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and fiber splicing equipment.
- Experience in OFS OptiCost tool will be plus
- Knowledge of standards like ITU-T G.652 and IEC 60793 & Purdue Mode
