The Invent L3 Engineer will be responsible for providing retail planning support, reproducing issues in test environments, and preparing detailed defect documentation. The role involves coordinating and implementing permanent fixes, product patches, and configuration updates, as well as leading technical readiness activities for go-lives and product upgrades. The engineer will perform performance tuning for forecast execution jobs and maintain runbooks and troubleshooting documentation. Participation in on-call support rotation for production environments is also required.
Reproduce issues in test environments and prepare detailed defect documentation including: Logs, SQL extracts, Reproduction steps, Technical findings for Engineering teams Coordinate and implement: Permanent fixes, Product patches, Configuration updates R&D and Product team resolutions Lead technical readiness activities for: Go-lives, Product upgrades, Capacity testing, Pre/Post reconciliation, Cutover support Perform performance tuning for: Forecast execution jobs, SQL/database queries, Runtime optimization, Scaling and partitioning recommendations Create and maintain: Runbooks, Knowledge Base (KB) articles, Troubleshooting documentation Participate in on-call support rotation for production environments.
6+ years of experience in: Merchandise planning systems, Forecasting platforms, Retail planning support/implementation *Mandatory experience with: Invent.ai / MerchPlan Strong retail domain knowledge in: Forecasting, OTB (Open-to-Buy), Assortment Planning, Allocation, Replenishment, Promotions, Markdown Optimization, Seasonality Planning Strong SQL expertise including: Complex queries, Window functions, Performance tuning, Data validation and reconciliation Hands-on experience with: SFTP, CSV/Flat files, REST APIs, ETL troubleshooting Scripting knowledge in: Python, Bash Good understanding of: Linux environments, Log analysis, Multi-tenant SaaS platforms Proven experience handling: High severity production incidents, RCA documentation, Business-impact communication Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to business stakeholders.
