About OneRoot
OneRoot (ENP Farms Private Limited) is a Bengaluru-based agritech company that helps farmers sell their crops directly to big buyers - like processing companies and wholesalers - without going through middlemen. This means farmers get better prices for what they grow. OneRoot uses satellite technology and field experts to give farmers free advice on improving their crops, and connects them to fair buyers through its app, Markhet. The company works with crops like turmeric, maize, coconut, and bananas across India, and is now also expanding into Vietnam.
About the Role
We are looking for a Field Agronomist – Who has good knowledge and can build genuine trust with farmers on the ground. You will be the face of OneRoot in your area - visiting fields regularly, advising farmers on crop practices, and helping them adopt better techniques and connect to OneRoot's marketplace. This role is ideal for someone who is locally rooted, comfortable travelling extensively by two-wheeler, and genuinely enjoys working directly with farming communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with turmeric farmers in your local area.
- Conduct regular field visits across assigned villages to monitor crop health, growth stages, and farming practices.
- Convince and motivate farmers to adopt recommended Good agronomic practices and to engage with OneRoot's marketplace and advisory services.
- Educate farmers on turmeric crop management - including sowing, nutrition, pest and disease management, irrigation, and harvest practices - through one-on-one visits and group meetings.
- Identify field-level issues (pest outbreaks, disease symptoms, irrigation or soil concerns) and provide timely, practical guidance or escalate to the agronomy team where needed.
- Travel within and across assigned villages/clusters daily using a personal two-wheeler, covering the full geography of the assigned location.
- Maintain accurate, timely records of farmer interactions, field observations, and crop progress as required.
- Act as a dependable local point of contact between farmers and the OneRoot team.
Requirements
- Must be a local resident of (or currently based in) the applied location — Chamarajanagar, Gundlupete, Kollegala, Talavadi, or Hosur.
- Diploma, B.Sc., or M.Sc. in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Freshers are welcome to apply; candidates with up to 1 year of relevant field experience preferred.
- Sound working knowledge of crops and field practices, ideally with exposure to turmeric or other regional cash crops.
- Valid driving license and own two-wheeler, with willingness to travel extensively across rural and field locations.
- Comfortable working in outdoor field conditions for extended periods.

- Strong communication skills and a natural ability to connect with and earn the trust of farmers.
- Persuasive and patient approach to convincing farmers to adopt new practices or tools.
- Practical problem-solving mindset, with eagerness to learn and grow in the agronomy domain.
- Dedicated, self-motivated, and result-oriented, with the discipline to work independently in the field.
- Local language fluency and familiarity with the customs and farming patterns of the region.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
