Job Summary
The Welder is responsible for carrying out welding, fabrication, and structural repair work on electric buses, depot equipment, charging infrastructure, and workshop components. The role includes maintenance of bus body structures, chassis parts, brackets, panels, and metal assemblies while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication work on electric buses and depot infrastructure.
- Repair damaged bus body structures, frames, brackets, panels, and metal components.
- Carry out MIG, TIG, Arc, and gas welding as required.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, repair manuals, and fabrication designs.
- Cut, shape, grind, and assemble metal parts using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify defects and ensure quality standards.
- Support accident repair and structural restoration activities of buses.
- Maintain workshop tools, welding machines, and fabrication equipment in proper condition.
- Follow safety procedures while handling welding equipment, gas cylinders, and electrical tools.
- Coordinate with technicians, electricians, painters, and maintenance staff during repair activities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness in the workshop area.
- Report material requirements and equipment issues to the supervisor.
- Comply with company safety policies and EV workshop operational guidelines.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of welding and metal fabrication techniques.
- Ability to operate welding machines and fabrication tools safely.
- Basic understanding of bus body structures and automotive repair work.
- Ability to read technical drawings and measurements accurately.
- Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Awareness of workplace safety standards and PPE usage.
- Physical fitness to handle workshop activities and equipment.
Educational Qualification
- ITI Certificate in Welding / Fabrication or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
- Certification in MIG/TIG welding will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in welding or fabrication work.
- Experience in automobile workshops, bus depots, or EV maintenance facilities preferred.
Working Conditions
- Working in workshop and depot environments.
- May require shift duties, emergency repair work, and outdoor assignments.
- Exposure to heat, welding fumes, noise, and heavy equipment operations.
Safety Requirements
- Mandatory use of PPE including welding helmet, gloves, safety shoes, goggles, and protective clothing.
- Strict adherence to electrical and fire safety protocols within the EV depot.
Pay: ₹11,766.00 - ₹14,208.00 per month
