Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Talwade, Pune
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in automation and machine design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, automation equipment, and special-purpose machines (SPMs) using Solid Edge while ensuring design quality, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and automation systems using Solid Edge
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and manufacturing documentation
- Develop concepts for automation solutions including fixtures, jigs, conveyors, robotic cells, and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs)
- Collaborate with electrical, controls, and production teams for successful system integration
- Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection
- Modify and improve existing designs to enhance efficiency and optimize cost
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of automation equipment
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and technical reports
- Review technical specifications and ensure timely execution of projects
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
- 2–5 years of experience in Automation Design or Machine Design
- Proficiency in Solid Edge
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
- Experience with automation systems such as conveyors, robotic cells, and SPMs
- Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical integration
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
