Opportunity
We are seeking an Oracle Endeca Search Platform Engineer to manage and evolve a multi-site on-premise Endeca environment that powers product discovery across our digital storefronts. You will be the go-to expert for MDEX engines, DGraphs, Forge pipelines, and search configurations — ensuring search relevance, platform reliability, and exceptional customer experience. Working cross-functionally with business, merchandising, infrastructure, and application teams, you will drive continuous search improvements while supporting a critical 24x7 production platform.
Responsibilities
Top 5 Responsibilities:

Manage and support a multi-site Oracle Endeca on-premise environment with dedicated Endeca applications and MDEX engines for each website.

Administer, monitor, and optimize Endeca MDEX engines, DGraphs, Forge pipelines, and search/navigation configurations.
-
Design, maintain, and troubleshoot Endeca Forge-based data ingestion pipelines and custom ETL processes sourcing data from flat files.
-
Support and enhance Endeca Assembler API integrations consumed by Classic ASP storefront applications.

Analyze and resolve search relevance, navigation, faceting, and product discovery issues across multiple websites
Additional Responsibilities:
-
Monitor and tune Endeca query performance, index performance, and system resource utilization to ensure optimal customer experience.
-
Manage deployment, version control, and release processes using GitLab repositories for custom cartridges, scripts, and configurations.
-
Work with Squid proxy infrastructure to troubleshoot caching, routing, latency, and availability issues between application and Endeca layers.

Support daily batch operations and scheduling through Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) / OPC, including job monitoring, failure recovery, and dependency management.

Perform Endeca index builds, deployments, rollbacks, and production validations in a controlled release environment.

Investigate and resolve production incidents related to search availability, indexing failures, performance degradation, and application integration issues.

Develop and maintain operational runbooks, support documentation, deployment procedures, and disaster recovery plans.

Collaborate with business, merchandising, infrastructure, and application teams to implement search enhancements and platform improvements.

Participate in 24x7 production support and on-call rotations for critical search platform incidents.
Qualifications
Top 5 Qualifications:

Proven experience designing and troubleshooting Forge-based data ingestion pipelines and custom ETL processes from flat file sources.

Hands-on experience administering Oracle Endeca, including MDEX engine management, DGraph configuration, and search/navigation tuning.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve search relevance, faceting, and product discovery issues in a multi-site eCommerce environment.
-
Experience managing GitLab-based deployments, including custom cartridges, scripts, configurations, rollbacks, and production validations.
-
Strong production support background with experience handling search platform incidents, indexing failures, and performance degradation under on-call conditions.
Additional Qualifications:

Familiarity with Endeca Assembler API and integration patterns with Classic ASP or legacy storefront applications.

Experience with Squid proxy configuration and troubleshooting connectivity between application and search layers.

Knowledge of Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) / OPC or equivalent batch scheduling tools for job monitoring and failure recovery.

Ability to create and maintain operational runbooks, deployment procedures, and disaster recovery documentation.

Experience tuning Endeca query and index performance for optimal system resource utilization.

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — comfortable working with business, merchandising, infrastructure, and application teams.
