Job Summary
SR Group of Institutions (SRGI), Jhansi is seeking a dedicated and qualified Assistant Professor in Commerce to join our academic faculty. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality undergraduate (B.Com) and postgraduate (M.Com) instruction, engaging in research activities, mentoring students, and contributing to institutional development.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic & Teaching Duties
- Deliver dynamic classroom lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions across core Commerce subjects (e.g., Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Taxation, Cost Accounting, Auditing, Financial Management, Banking, and Business Laws).
- Design course outlines, lesson plans, study materials, internal assessments, and question papers according to university guidelines.
- Integrate modern teaching methodologies, case studies, and digital learning tools into daily pedagogy.
- Conduct regular evaluations, internal exams, mid-term tests, and continuous assessment tracking.
2. Research & Professional Development
- Conduct scholarly research in contemporary Commerce, Finance, and Business fields.
- Publish research papers in peer-reviewed, Scopus-indexed, or UGC-CARE listed journals.
- Participate in and organize national/international conferences, seminars, workshops, and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs).
- Guide students in research projects, dissertations, and industry-oriented assignments.
3. Student Mentorship & Administrative Support
- Act as a mentor and academic advisor to students, supporting their career planning, skill development, and academic success.
- Assist in departmental operations, curriculum enrichment, accreditation work (e.g., NAAC/NBA), and university exam duties.
- Coordinate student activities, commerce clubs, industrial visits, guest lectures, and placement preparation.
Eligibility & QualificationsEducational Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree: Master of Commerce (M.Com) from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent grade point average).
Eligibility Criteria (At least one required):
- UGC-NET / SLET / SET: Qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Commerce conducted by UGC or a state-equivalent test.OR
- Ph.D. Degree: Ph.D. in Commerce completed (awarded in accordance with UGC regulations) OR currently pursuing a Ph.D. in a relevant Commerce specialization.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Prior Teaching Experience: 0–3 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or postgraduate level (freshers with strong academic credentials and NET/Ph.D. are encouraged to apply).
- Strong subject matter expertise in core accounting, finance, or taxation streams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong classroom management abilities.
- Basic proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally Prime, Excel for Business Analytics) is an added advantage.
