Looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day plant operations, manpower, and shift-wise production at our solvent manufacturing unit in Derabassi, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality-compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate shift-wise production operations — reactors, distillation columns, utilities — as per production plan
- Allocate and manage manpower (Operators, Fitters, Helpers) across the shift to ensure smooth operations
- Ensure batch manufacturing is carried out as per SOPs, formulation, and quality requirements
- Monitor production targets, yield, and material consumption; report deviations to Plant/Production Manager
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed and coordinate breakdown attending with Maintenance team
- Enforce safety protocols — permit-to-work system, PPE usage, LOTO, hot work permits — across the shift
- Conduct shift handover with complete documentation (production status, pending activities, safety observations)
- Coordinate with QC/Lab for in-process sample approvals and final product release
- Monitor ETP/MEE, utility, and store operations during the shift as applicable
- Maintain shift logbooks, batch records, and production MIS reports
- Ensure housekeeping, 5S, and discipline are maintained across the plant
- Handle emergency situations (spillage, fire, equipment failure) as per plant emergency response plan
- Train and guide junior staff/operators on process and safety practices
Requirements
- B.Sc./Diploma/B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory role at a chemical, solvent, or pharma/API manufacturing plant
- Strong knowledge of batch processing, distillation, and reactor operations
- Working knowledge of statutory compliance — Factory Act, Pollution Control norms, hazardous chemical handling
- Good leadership and manpower management skills
- Ability to handle production planning, documentation, and reporting
- Strong understanding of safety protocols in a hazardous/solvent plant environment
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and be available for emergencies
