Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced CNC & VMC Operator with a background in heavy engineering manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for operating CNC and VMC machines to manufacture precision components used in industrial valves while ensuring quality, productivity, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC and VMC machines for machining industrial valve components.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished components safely.
- Set tools, fixtures, work offsets, and machine parameters as per job requirements.
- Perform production as per daily production plan and achieve target output.
- Inspect machined components using Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge, dial gauge, and other measuring instruments.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and maintain machining tolerances.
- Perform tool offset corrections and minor machine adjustments during production.
- Monitor machine performance and report breakdowns or abnormalities to the maintenance team.
- Maintain production records and machine operation logs.
- Follow SOPs, ISO/API quality requirements, safety procedures, and 5S practices.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments for smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Experience in operating CNC Turning Centre and Vertical Machining Centre (VMC).
- Knowledge of machine setting, tool changing, offsets, and basic CNC controls.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T and machining tolerances.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, machining parameters, and coolant usage.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
- Understanding of production quality standards and safe machining practices.
