Job Summary
Vastucraft Architect & Construction is seeking a skilled and responsible Structural Engineer to join our design and engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for the structural analysis, design, detailing, coordination, and execution support of residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.
The ideal candidate should have sound knowledge of RCC and steel structures, relevant Indian Standards, structural design software, preparation of GFC drawings, and coordination with architects, consultants, contractors, and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of RCC and steel structures.
- Design foundations, columns, beams, slabs, retaining walls, staircases, and other structural components.
- Prepare structural design calculations, Design Basis Reports, calculation sheets, and technical documentation.
- Develop and review structural drawings, reinforcement details, bar-bending details, and Good for Construction drawings.
- Coordinate structural designs with architectural, MEP, geotechnical, and site requirements.
- Review soil investigation reports and recommend suitable foundation systems.
- Check structural models, drawings, and calculations prepared by junior engineers and draftsmen.
- Conduct site visits to inspect reinforcement, shuttering, structural execution, and quality of construction.
- Resolve structural and site-related technical issues during execution.
- Prepare structural strengthening and retrofitting proposals for existing buildings where required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant IS codes, NBC provisions, project specifications, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, project managers, contractors, and third-party vetting agencies.
- Maintain proper records of design revisions, approvals, and drawing submissions.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering.
- M.Tech/M.E. in Structural Engineering will be preferred.
- Minimum 2+years of relevant structural design experience.
- Strong knowledge of RCC and structural steel design.
- Practical knowledge of IS 456, IS 875, IS 1893, IS 13920, IS 800, IS 2911, and other applicable Indian Standards.
- Experience in structural modelling, analysis, design, and preparation of construction drawings.
Software Skills
The candidate should be proficient in:
- ETABS
- SAFE
- STAAD.Pro
- AutoCAD
- MS Excel and MS Office
Knowledge of Revit Structure, Tekla, RCDC, or similar detailing software will be an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in residential and multi-storey building projects.
- Ability to independently handle structural projects from concept to GFC stage.
- Good understanding of construction practices and site execution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet submission deadlines.
- Registration as a Structural Engineer with the competent authority will be an added advantage.
