About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Commodity Manager to lead the procurement and supply management of food commodities, with a strong focus on vendor management, cost optimization, quality assurance, and market intelligence. The role requires a proactive professional who can manage commodity portfolios, build strategic supplier relationships, and ensure efficient supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
- Manage procurement of food commodities, including dry fruits and related categories.
- Monitor market trends and commodity price movements to support timely purchasing decisions.
- Develop buying plans and demand estimations to optimize inventory and cost.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and uninterrupted supply.
Vendor Management & Development
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure long-term collaboration.
- Assess vendor capabilities, infrastructure, and compliance with quality standards.
- Work closely with suppliers to implement and replicate required processes and quality benchmarks.
Operations & Supply Chain Management
- Coordinate logistics, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure timely deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels and support efficient stock management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth procurement and operational processes.
- Conduct quality checks and ensure adherence to product quality standards.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and operational reports.
- Utilize Excel and reporting tools to track purchases, inventory, pricing trends, and costs.
- Generate periodic reports and insights to support business decision-making.
Market Intelligence
- Track commodity markets and industry developments.
- Analyze pricing trends, demand-supply dynamics, and competitive market movements.
- Provide recommendations to optimize procurement strategies and reduce costs.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Experience in procurement, sourcing, or commodity management within the food industry.
- Strong understanding of food commodities, vendor development, and supply chain operations.
- Proven negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively to factories, supplier locations, and commodity markets.
- Ability to assess market conditions and understand commodity price movements across regions.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
