Job Title: Commis Chef (South Indian Breakfast)

Job Summary:
A Commis Chef is an entry-level position in a professional kitchen. The role involves assisting senior chefs in food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, learning kitchen operations, and developing culinary skills. This is a foundational role designed to provide training and experience to advance within a professional kitchen hierarchy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and cooking of dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Head Chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment.
- Ensure all food items are stored and handled according to safety and hygiene standards.
- Learn and apply proper knife skills and cooking techniques.
- Support the kitchen team in daily operations and service.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries properly.
- Comply with food safety, health, and safety regulations.
- Attend training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
- A culinary qualification or relevant experience (preferred but not always required).
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
