Purpose
To lead end-to-end stores and warehouse operations by ensuring timely receipt, storage, inventory control, material availability, and dispatch while maintaining high inventory accuracy, safety, statutory compliance, and operational excellence through digital warehouse systems and best practices.
Role and Responsibilities
1 Stores & Warehouse Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day operations of stores/warehouse including receipt, storage, issue, and dispatch of raw materials, components, spares, and finished goods.
2 Inventory Control & Stock Reconciliation
- Ensure accurate inventory control through regular cycle counts, physical stock verification, and reconciliation with system records.
3 Inventory Rotation & Material Storage Control
- Implement and maintain FIFO/FEFO practices for material storage and issue.
4 3PL & Logistics Coordination Management
- Coordinate with 3PL logistics partners for inbound/outbound shipments, transportation, and warehousing operations, ensuring SLA compliance.
5 Warehouse Space & Resource Utilization
- Drive optimal utilization of warehouse space and material handling equipment.
6 Warehouse Management System (WMS) Administration
- Manage and configure Warehouse Management System (WMS) for goods receipt, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch processes.
7 Stores KPI Monitoring & Performance Improvement
- Monitor and improve key store KPIs — inventory accuracy, stock-out incidents, dead stock/obsolescence, storage costs, and turnaround time.
8 Stores Compliance, Safety & Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and quality standards (5S, ISO, EHS norms) within the stores area.
9 Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, train, and manage a team of store executives, supervisors, and warehouse staff.
10 MIS Reporting & Inventory Analytics
- Prepare MIS reports on inventory levels, aging analysis, consumption patterns, and cost control.
11 Audit Support & Inventory Governance
- Support internal and external audits (financial, ISO, customer audits) related to stores and inventory
12 Process Improvement & Stores Digitization
- Drive process improvement initiatives, automation, and digitization of store operations.
13 Vendor Coordination & Material Support Management
- Manage vendor coordination for packaging materials, consumables, and handling equipment.
14 Barcode / RFID Inventory Management
- Implement barcode/RFID-based inventory management where applicable.
15 Cross-Functional Material Coordination
- Liaise with production planning, procurement, and quality teams to ensure uninterrupted material supply and avoid line stoppages.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
BE/B.Tech/Graduate with specialization in Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management, or MBA (preferred)
Experience:
6–8 Years (Manufacturing & 3PL Logistics)
Prefered Industries Experience (Engineering & EPC, Electrical Equipment, Automotive & Auto Components, Pharma, FMCG, Chemicals, Heavy Manufacturing)
