Description Key Responsibilities Backup Administration • Administer and manage Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure. • Configure, modify, and maintain backup jobs for virtual and physical workloads. • Manage backup repositories, proxy servers, scale-out repositories, and backup copy jobs. • Monitor backup schedules and ensure successful completion of backup and replication jobs. • Perform backup verification and health checks. • Monitor repository utilization and backup capacity. Restore & Recovery • Perform file-level, application-level, VM-level, and database restores. • Execute instant VM recovery and emergency recovery activities. • Support disaster recovery testing and recovery drills. • Validate successful recovery after restoration activities. Monitoring & Incident Management • Monitor backup infrastructure health on a daily basis. • Investigate and resolve backup failures and job errors. • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring backup issues. • Handle incidents within agreed SLA timelines. • Coordinate with OEM support for complex issues. Infrastructure Management • Monitor backup server performance and resource utilization. • Manage backup storage utilization and retention policies. • Maintain backup repositories and archive storage. • Verify replication job health and backup copy status. • Perform routine maintenance activities on backup infrastructure. Skillset: L2 Knowledge of Backup solution (Veeam) In-depth knowledge of backup technologies and related hardware components such as Storage, Network, Servers and Tape Library. Experience with backup management tools, such as volume managers, file systems, and backup and recovery software. Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python or PowerShell, to automate backuprelated tasks. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with stakeholders, including technical and nontechnical personnel. Good problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues with backup systems. Experience with data migration, including planning and execution of data transfer between existing backup systems to new backup system. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for backup management, such as data protection, data security, and compliance requirements. Understanding of networking concepts and technologies Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, collaboration skills with other IT teams such as Server support team, Storage team, Application teams, SAN Switch support, system administrators and network Engineers
