As an Associate in EMEA Consumer, Healthcare and Retail Wholesale Credit Risk team covering corporate clients in the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB). You will cover a diversified portfolio of Investment and Non-Investment Grade counterparties, with responsibility for conducting credit analysis, managing portfolio exposures, and reviewing and approving transactions across a wide range of credit products.
Job Responsibilities
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Demonstrated analytical rigor and credit judgment, with the ability to identify, quantify, and communicate key risks.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and scenario analysis relevant to a range of lending contexts (investment grade, leveraged lending, venture lending).
- Familiarity in leveraging AI tools to support analysis and enhance efficiency.
- Knowledge of transaction structures, loan documentation (LMA, leveraged finance), and banking products sufficient to support negotiation and execution.
- Strong project management capability with end-to-end ownership of workstreams; effective prioritization and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.
- Clear, effective written and verbal communication; ability to establish credibility with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to coach and develop junior colleagues.
- Self-directed, results-oriented, adaptable, and motivated to drive continuous improvement.
- Prior experience in a comparable credit or risk environment.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related area (advanced degree a plus).
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Previous experience (2-3+ years) in a Credit Risk department or leveraged finance underwriting, including skills in cash flow modelling and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with corporate business models, sponsor dynamics, and covenant packages
- Strong stakeholder management skills in a matrix organization
- Working towards / having a professional certification (e.g. CFA, FRM) are considered a plus
