Job Description – Civil Draftsman
Renewable Energy Projects (Solar, Wind & BESS)
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Draftsman to prepare civil and
structural drawings for Renewable Energy Projects including Solar Power Plants,
Wind Energy Projects, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The candidate will
be responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, layouts, foundation details,
and as-built documentation in coordination with engineering and project execution
teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed civil and structural drawings using AutoCAD and related
drafting software.
o Site layout drawings
o Plot plans
o Foundation drawings for equipment and structures
o RCC and structural detailing
o Road and drainage layouts
o Cable trench layouts
o Control room and inverter room drawings
o BESS container foundation layouts
o Wind turbine foundation drawings
o Water management and storm water drainage layouts
o Structural steel detailing
- Prepare BOQ support drawings and quantity references.
- Coordinate with Civil Design Engineers, Electrical Teams, and Site Execution
Teams for drawing updates and revisions.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site conditions and execution
changes.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, IS codes, and client
standards.
- Maintain drawing records, revisions, and document control systems.
- Review vendor and consultant drawings and incorporate approved
modifications.
- Support tendering, execution, and project planning teams with technical
drawing requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of civil drafting and detailing.
- Proficiency in:
o AutoCAD
o Revit, Sketch up
o MS Office
o Drafting standards and documentation
o RCC structures
o Structural steel drawings
o Solar module mounting structure foundations
o Wind turbine civil works
o BESS infrastructure layouts
o Roads, drainage, and trench systems
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and site requirements.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Knowledge of as-built documentation and project execution preferred.
Educational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Draftsman ship, or related field.
Experience Required
- 2 to 6 Years of experience in civil drafting for Renewable Energy / EPC Projects.
- Experience in Solar, Wind, or BESS projects preferred.
