ole Summary
We are looking for a Legal team member whose primary responsibility will be drafting and vetting a wide range of commercial, corporate and HR-related documents, alongside supporting regulatory compliance, dispute resolution and corporate governance matters. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role working closely with the CEO's office and cross-functional teams (B2B, B2C, HR, Finance).
Key Responsibility – Drafting (Primary)
The primary responsibility of this role is drafting and vetting legal documents across the business – including commercial agreements (MSAs, NDAs, vendor contracts, enterprise/B2B service agreements), partner, reseller and system-integrator agreements, lease and infrastructure agreements, management and acquisition/transaction documents, employment-related documents (offer letters, HR policies, show-cause notices, termination letters), board resolutions and minutes, and formal representations and correspondence to regulators, vendors and business partners.
Other Responsibilities
- Review and negotiate contract terms with counterparties (carriers, OEMs, system integrators, landlords, channel partners), flagging commercial and legal risk.
- Support regulatory and compliance matters relating to DoT/TRAI licensing conditions and telecom regulations.
- Support dispute resolution and litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel, tracking notices, and preparing responses.
- Advise HR on employment law matters, including disciplinary processes, termination and POSH compliance.
- Maintain a contract repository and tracker, including renewal and expiry dates, ensuring proper execution, stamping and registration of documents.
Requirements
- LLB (Bachelor's degree in Law) from a recognised university; an additional qualification such as Company Secretary (CS) is a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant post-qualification experience in a corporate/commercial legal role, ideally within telecom, ISP, infrastructure, or a fast-scaling company.
- Strong, demonstrable drafting skills across commercial contracts, HR documentation and legal correspondence.
- Working knowledge of the Indian Contract Act, Companies Act, IT Act, and preferably the telecom regulatory framework (DoT/TRAI).
- Exposure to employment law and HR-related legal matters.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Hindi/Marathi is an advantage for local matters.
- High attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple contracts/matters at once.
- Comfortable working directly with founder-level leadership in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment.
Good to Have
- Prior in-house experience at an ISP, telecom, or infrastructure company.
- Exposure to regulatory or dispute matters before TDSAT or consumer forums.
