Your impact
The Design Engineering Manager Piping support the Discipline Manager on achieving Jacob’s project and engineering process and procedure. This dynamic position provides leadership, champions inclusion and diversity, drives global delivery, supports a culture of innovation applies a disciplined deployment and ensures Management responsibilities including performance appraisals, pay reviews, training and development. Manages professional employees and/or supervisors or manages multi-discipline teams of support employees accounting for a large/significant span of control. Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialty. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges and problem solving guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from senior manager. Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers. Drives design consistency across projects by standardizing templates, specifications, and workflows. Promotes continuous improvement in design efficiency, digital tools, and engineering practices.
The Piping Design Manager will lead and manage piping design activities for life sciences projects—including pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, biotechnology plants, sterile/aseptic production suites, R&D laboratories, utility systems, and cleanroom environments. This role ensures that all piping design deliverables meet project requirements, regulatory standards, GMP compliance, and client expectations while driving innovation, efficiency, and quality. Ensure design deliverables meet quality and safety standards, regulatory expectations, and project specifications. Act as the primary point of contact for piping design matters with clients, PMCs, and EPC/EPCM partners. Participate in design workshops, HAZOPs, risk assessments, and constructability studies and provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and start‑up.
Here's what you'll need
17-20 Years of Experience and Degree in full time BE/Btech - Chemical/Mechanical
Strong experience on design of pharmaceutical / Life Science /Biotech facility / Speciality Chemical in terms of Piping design.
Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical / Life Science /Biotech facility inter discipline requirements.
