Dean – Architecture & Design
Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu
Role Overview
The Dean – Architecture & Design will lead the institution's School of Architecture & Design, overseeing academic excellence, Council of Architecture (CoA) compliance, design studio leadership, and industry-academic integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic and administrative leadership for B.Arch, M.Arch, and design programs.
- Ensure full compliance with Council of Architecture (CoA) norms, AICTE guidelines, and institutional quality standards.
- Lead design studio education, thesis supervision, and project-based learning environments.
- Drive research, publications, and design innovation within the department.
- Build partnerships with architecture firms, urban planning bodies, and design industry organizations.
- Manage faculty recruitment, development, and performance in the department.
- Strengthen student placement, internship networks, and professional registration support.
Eligibility
- M.Arch / PhD in Architecture or Design from a reputed institution; PhD strongly preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of combined academic and/or professional practice experience in architecture or design.
- Registration with the Council of Architecture (India) is preferred.
- Strong portfolio of academic leadership, studio teaching, and research.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Key Conditions
- Candidates from West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and North-East states will not be considered.
- Minimum 3-year written commitment mandatory.
