SENIOR ENGINEER – CONSTRUCTION | 1 OPENING
Drawing Coordination | Site Execution | Quality Control
Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership across our building projects. The role requires strong drawing-reading ability, clear communication with contractors and site teams, close coordination with the Project Manager, and primary ownership of site quality control. This is an execution-focused role, not merely a supervisory or reporting position.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
· Study architectural, structural and MEP/services drawings before execution and identify discrepancies, missing details, clashes and constructability issues.
· Explain approved drawings, dimensions, levels, specifications and construction methodology clearly to contractors, site engineers and supervisors.
· Ensure only the latest approved drawings/revisions are followed and coordinate technical clarifications with the Architect/Design team through the Project Manager.
· Take primary responsibility for QA/QC, including line, level, plumb, dimensions, workmanship, materials and finishes.
· Carry out stage-wise inspections for reinforcement, formwork, concreting, masonry, waterproofing, plastering, flooring/tiling, MEP provisions, fabrication, painting and finishes.
· Maintain QC checklists, snag lists and non-conformance observations and ensure corrective action is closed before subsequent work proceeds.
· Coordinate with the Project Manager on DPR, planned vs achieved progress, manpower, constraints, quality observations and upcoming priorities.
· Verify DPR reporting against actual site conditions and escalate delays, rework, quality failures or contractor underperformance.
· Conduct pre-work briefings and hold-point inspections for critical activities to prevent mistakes and rework.
· Coordinate civil, architectural and MEP interfaces to prevent clashes and execution conflicts.
· Inspect incoming materials with the relevant team for approved make/specification and report/reject non-conforming materials.
· Provide hands-on technical guidance to site engineers, supervisors and contractors.
· Coordinate with the QS Engineer for technical/measurement clarifications where required.
· Ensure basic site safety, housekeeping and approved work procedures are followed.
Candidate Requirements
· B.E./B.Tech Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering with strong relevant experience.
· Preferred: 7+ years of hands-on building-construction experience; strong candidates may be considered based on capability.
· Strong command of architectural, structural and MEP drawing interpretation and coordination.
· Practical knowledge of RCC, masonry, waterproofing, plastering, flooring, finishing and services coordination.
· Demonstrated QA/QC experience including inspections, checklists, snagging and corrective-action closure.
· Ability to communicate firmly and clearly with contractors, engineers and supervisors.
· Working knowledge of DPRs, schedules, MS Excel and digital reporting.
· Experience in villas, apartments, commercial, institutional or hospital projects preferred.
