About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and technically sound Application Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer to support the sales, demonstration, and deployment of advanced scientific instrumentation across India. The ideal candidate should possess a strong academic background in Physics, prior experience in scientific equipment sales, and a good understanding of India's research ecosystem, including universities, national laboratories, PSUs, and government procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive technical sales of scientific and research instrumentation to academic institutions, R&D laboratories, PSUs, and industrial customers.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations, customer meetings, and on-site instrument installations.
- Travel across India as required for customer visits, demonstrations, installations, training, and technical discussions.
- Prepare technical proposals and assist customers during the procurement process.
- Manage GeM (Government e-Marketplace) activities, including participation in tenders, custom bids, reverse auctions (RA), and other procurement processes.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through timely communication and regular follow-ups.
- Record, communicate, and track customer feedback, technical issues, and service tickets with internal engineering and support teams.
- Study technical specifications of customer requirements and perform comparative analysis between company products and competitor offerings.
- Keep track of developments in the Indian research ecosystem and identify new business opportunities.
Desired Qualifications
- M.Sc. In physics(preferred)
- Prior experience in sales or application support of scientific or laboratory equipment.
- Good understanding of India's research institutions, universities, national laboratories, and PSU procurement processes.
- Hands-on experience using the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), including tenders, bids, and Reverse Auctions.
- Strong analytical ability to understand technical specifications and compare competing products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-driven, organized, and diligent with customer follow-ups and documentation.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with CRM tools is an advantage.

- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly understand new scientific instruments.
- Customer-centric mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with sales, engineering, and service teams.
- Experience interacting with professors, scientists, procurement teams, and research organizations is highly desirable.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
