We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Solution Architect (DBA & Data Migration) with 15+ years of expertise in enterprise database architecture, cloud migration, and modernization. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience migrating databases from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure while ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and performance.
This role requires strong technical leadership in database architecture, migration strategy, performance tuning, Azure cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-scale database migration projects from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.
- Design and implement migration strategies for Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB databases.
- Plan and execute zero or low-downtime database migrations with validation and reconciliation.
- Design High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and recovery solutions.
- Perform database capacity planning, performance tuning, and scalability optimization.
- Execute schema conversion, dependency analysis, and compatibility remediation.
- Optimize migrated workloads for cost, reliability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot complex database performance issues and production incidents.
- Collaborate with Architecture, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Application teams throughout migration projects.
- Provide technical leadership and best practices for database modernization initiatives.
- Support enterprise cloud transformation and database modernization programs.
Required Skills
- 15+ years of experience in Database Administration, Database Architecture, and Cloud Migration.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform.
- Hands-on experience migrating databases from on-premises to Azure Cloud.
- Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Strong understanding of High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and recovery strategies.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with schema conversion and migration execution.
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
- Ability to manage complex multi-platform database migration projects.
- Experience working with DevOps teams and modern cloud architecture.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Knowledge of Self-hosted Integration Runtime (SHIR).
- Experience with SSIS migration to Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
- Knowledge of GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of cloud-native integration patterns.
- Exposure to multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Microsoft Azure Certifications are highly preferred.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
