About the Role
We are looking for a Freelance Promo Writer to create promotional scripts for our microdrama shows.
The role involves understanding a show's core story, identifying its strongest dramatic moments, and developing short promotional scripts that communicate the premise clearly and create curiosity about the show.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of storytelling, dialogue, pacing, and short-form digital content.
Key Responsibilities
- Review microdrama scripts, episodes, and story summaries.
- Identify key characters, conflicts, emotional moments, twists, and reveals.
- Develop short promotional scripts for trailers, teasers, social media, and digital campaigns.
- Create strong opening hooks that establish the story quickly.
- Structure promos with clear setup, conflict, escalation, and a compelling ending.
- Write engaging dialogue, voiceovers, and on-screen text where required.
- Develop multiple creative approaches for the same show when needed.
- Adapt stories into concise formats while maintaining the core narrative.
- Work closely with editors, directors, producers, and the marketing team.
- Revise scripts based on creative feedback and campaign requirements.
- Deliver scripts within agreed timelines.
Requirements
- Strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Experience in copywriting, screenwriting, advertising, content writing, or promotional writing.
- Strong command of Hindi and/or Hinglish. English writing ability is an advantage.
- Good understanding of dramatic storytelling, suspense, emotional conflict, and character-driven narratives.
- Ability to write concise and engaging scripts for short-form video.
- Ability to understand visual storytelling and write scripts that can be effectively executed by a video editor.
- Comfortable working on multiple projects and incorporating feedback quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Good to Have
- Previous experience writing promos for films, OTT series, television, digital content, or short-form fiction.
- Experience with vertical video formats such as Reels and Shorts.
- Understanding of social media content and digital advertising.
- Familiarity with AI tools for writing, voice generation, image generation, or video generation.
- Basic understanding of video editing and production workflows.
