Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Mid-Senior PHP Developer with 4-7 years of experience to join our engineering team. In this role, you will lead the development of robust, full-stack applications using PHP and Laravel as the backbone, while integrating modern JavaScript for dynamic front-end experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy secure, scalable solutions on cloud platforms like AWS. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement server-side logic using PHP fundamentals, including core syntax, functions, error handling, and server-side scripting to ensure reliable backend operations.
- Develop and maintain Laravel-based applications, leveraging routing, controllers, Blade templating, Eloquent ORM, and MVC structure to build modular, maintainable codebases.
- Create responsive front-end interfaces with HTML fundamentals such as semantic tags, forms, and page structure, enhanced by JavaScript essentials like ES6 concepts, DOM manipulation, and event handling.
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs, handling HTTP methods, status codes, and request/response flows to enable seamless integration between front-end and backend services.
- Write efficient MySQL queries for data manipulation (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE), including joins and basic query optimization, to support high-performance data operations.
- Utilize AI development tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, or GitHub Copilot to streamline code generation, debugging, and refactoring, boosting productivity and code quality.
- Deploy and manage applications on AWS or similar cloud services (e.g., Azure, GCP), utilizing native capabilities like auto-scaling groups, load balancers, IAM roles, and security groups to ensure scalability, high availability, and robust security.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and product teams to conduct code reviews, implement CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Mentor junior developers, sharing best practices in full-stack PHP development and cloud-native architectures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4-7 years of professional experience as a PHP Developer, with a focus on full-stack web applications.
- Proficiency in PHP core concepts, including syntax, functions, error handling, and server-side scripting.
- Strong hands-on experience with Laravel, including routing, controllers, Blade templating, Eloquent ORM, and MVC patterns.
- Solid knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), DOM manipulation, and event handling for interactive UIs.
- Expertise in REST API development, covering HTTP methods, status codes, and secure request/response handling.
- Advanced skills in HTML for semantic markup, forms, and structured page layouts.
- Proven ability to write optimized MySQL queries (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, joins) with a focus on performance tuning.
- Demonstrated experience deploying PHP/Laravel applications to AWS or equivalent clouds, including leveraging services for scaling (e.g., EC2 Auto Scaling, RDS) and security (e.g., VPC, WAF).
- Hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Windsurf, or GitHub Copilot to enhance coding efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering scalable, secure applications in agile environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
