Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 support for network-related incidents, requests, and escalations
- Troubleshoot issues related to routing, switching, VLANs, and IP addressing
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios
- Handle incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis (RCA)
- Ensure uptime and performance of LAN, WAN, VPN, and internet connectivity
- Work on configuration changes, firmware upgrades, and patch management
- Collaborate with L3 teams/vendors for complex issue resolution
- Maintain network documentation and diagrams
- Implement basic network security policies and access controls
Technical Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT
- Hands-on experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)
- Good understanding of switching concepts (STP, VLAN, trunking)
- Experience with firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Sophos)
- Knowledge of VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN)
- Familiarity with network monitoring and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira)
- Basic understanding of network security and troubleshooting tools
