The day-to-day duties of a hotel receptionist go far beyond clerical work, bridging the gap between guests and all hotel operations:
- Guest Management: Welcoming visitors, verifying identification, managing check-ins, allocating keys, and processing swift departures.
- Reservation Control: Tracking daily occupancy, processing cancellations, and coordinating online or telephone bookings.
- Financial Handling: Verifying payment methods, processing bills, issuing invoices, and handling basic front-desk cashiering.
- Inter-department Coordination: Communicating room readiness and special requests instantly with housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage teams.
- Guest Relations: Addressing complaints promptly, answering queries regarding hotel amenities, and sharing experiences
