Design Release Engineer (DRE) – BIW

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Design Release Engineer (DRE) – BIW to lead the design, development, validation, and release of Body-in-White structural components for automotive programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop BIW components and assemblies using UG NX/CATIA.
- Perform DMU analysis, clearance checks, and vehicle integration activities.
- Manage engineering releases, BOM updates, and change management in Teamcenter/PLM.
- Collaborate with CAE, manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Support DFMEA, DVP&R, tooling release, prototype builds, and vehicle launch activities.
- Drive cost, weight, quality, and manufacturability improvements.
Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, or Production Engineering.
- 6–8 years of experience in BIW design and development.
- Strong knowledge of BIW Upper Body and/or Underbody structures.
- Proficiency in UG NX/CATIA, Teamcenter/PLM, and DMU analysis.
- Experience with sheet metal design, welded assemblies, GD&T, DFMEA, and DVP&R.
- Understanding of stamping, welding, and automotive manufacturing processes.
Preferred
- Experience with A/B/C pillars, roof systems, body side structures, floors, tunnels, cross members, and reinforcements.
- Automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier experience.
