ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Retail Training Specialist, you will be the heartbeat of our in-store capability development. You will design, deliver, and embed training programs across our retail network — shaping how our retail team shows up every single day. This is not a classroom-only role. You will be on the floor, coaching in the moment, building confidence in our people, and setting the gold standard for how a Uni Seoul associate looks, behaves, and delivers for our customers.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Training Design & Delivery
▪ Design and roll out end-to-end training programs for our retail team across all store levels and functions
▪ Conduct structured onboarding sessions and ongoing refresher programs for new joiners across all retail touchpoints
▪ Develop training content covering customer service excellence, product knowledge, store standards, and SOPs
▪ Deliver classroom, floor-based, and hands-on training modules tailored to different store roles and functions
Coaching & Behavioural Development
▪ Adopt a coach-first mindset — observe, provide feedback, and guide associates towards continuous improvement
▪ Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions focused on attitude, communication, and professional behaviour
▪ Build a culture of accountability and excellence by modelling the behaviours we expect on the floor
▪ Identify skill gaps through observation and assessments, and create targeted individual development plans
Grooming, Appearance & Dress Standards
▪ Train all store team members on Uni Seoul grooming guidelines, uniform compliance, and personal standards
▪ Conduct regular store audits to ensure dress code and appearance norms are consistently maintained
▪ Create engaging visual guides and checklists for daily appearance standards across the retail team
Customer Experience Training
▪ Train the retail team on customer greeting etiquette, objection handling, upselling, and post-sale engagement
▪ Develop role-play scenarios and mock-floor exercises that simulate real customer interactions
▪ Champion a customer-first culture by embedding service excellence into everyday store routines
Store Standards & Display Training
▪ Train the retail team on store display compliance, presentation standards, and seasonal refresh protocols
▪ Work closely with relevant store and ops teams to ensure training aligns with current brand guidelines
▪ Conduct store walk-throughs to evaluate execution of store standards and provide corrective coaching
L&D Reporting & Management
▪ Track training completion rates, assessment scores, and learning outcomes across the store network
▪ Prepare monthly L&D reports with insights on training effectiveness, skill gaps, and intervention recommendations
▪ Maintain and update a repository of training materials, SOPs, and evaluation tools
WHO YOU ARE
▪ 4+ years of experience in retail training, L&D, or store operations with a dedicated training focus
▪ Hands-on experience working with and training retail teams across various store functions
▪ Passionate about people development with a natural ability to coach, inspire, and motivate teams
▪ Strong knowledge of retail SOPs, customer service frameworks, and in-store standards
▪ Excellent communication and facilitation skills — you hold a room and hold people's attention
▪ Comfortable delivering feedback at all levels across the retail team
▪ Detail-oriented when it comes to grooming standards, brand presentation, and compliance
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE
▪ Experience in fashion, lifestyle, or consumer retail brands
▪ Certification in L&D, coaching, or instructional design (e.g. CPTD, ICF, or equivalent)
▪ Familiarity with LMS platforms or e-learning content creation tools
▪ Prior experience building training content from scratch — decks, handbooks, role-play toolkits, or videos
