ROLE PURPOSE
To lead, manage, and continuously improve all plant and manufacturing operations at Shahnaz Bright Steel Industries Pvt. Ltd. The Senior Manager – Operations is responsible for driving production efficiency, cost reduction, throughput maximization, ERP integration, and building a structured, world-class manufacturing system aligned with the company's ₹100 Crore revenue target and long-term growth vision up to 2030.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plant & Production Management
- Oversee end-to-end plant operations from raw material receipt to finished goods dispatch.
- Develop, implement, and monitor production plans to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Optimize machine utilization, shift scheduling, and manpower deployment.
- Eliminate production bottlenecks and ensure smooth workflow across all departments.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across all machines.
2. System Development & SOP Implementation
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WI) for all production processes.
- Create machine-wise operating standards, daily production reports, shift handover formats, and maintenance checklists.
- Ensure every employee clearly understands their work scope, quality standards, targets, and escalation processes.
- Establish a daily review meeting culture with structured MIS and reporting formats.
3. ERP Integration & Digitalization
- Integrate all plant operations into the ERP system: production planning, entry, machine-wise production, RM consumption, WIP, FG tracking, downtime, maintenance, costing, and OEE.
- Establish a real-time, data-driven manufacturing control system.
- Drive automation and digitalization initiatives across the plant.
4. Maintenance Excellence
- Develop and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules for all machines and utilities.
- Minimize breakdown downtime through robust maintenance systems and root cause analysis.
- Manage tool and consumable inventory to ensure zero production disruption.
5. Cost & Waste Reduction
- Monitor and reduce production cost per ton, energy consumption per ton, and scrap/rework rates.
- Implement waste reduction strategies (material, time, energy).
- Drive inventory optimization and improve inventory turnover ratios.
6. Safety, 5S & Compliance
- Ensure statutory safety compliance and a safe working environment for all employees.
- Implement and sustain 5S housekeeping practices across the plant.
- Drive a culture of safety-first and operational discipline.
7. Business Growth Roadmap Execution
- Prepare and execute an operations strategy to support ₹100 Crore turnover target.
- Develop year-wise Operations Roadmap up to 2030 covering capacity expansion, machine addition, layout improvement, and productivity enhancement.
- Collaborate with sales and management on On-Time Delivery (OTD) improvement and customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical / Metallurgy / Production Engineering (preferred). MBA Operations is an added advantage.
Experience
12–18 years in steel / bright bar / metal manufacturing; minimum 5 years in a Senior Manager or Plant Head role.
Industry Preference
Bright bar, cold drawing, forging, rolling mill, alloy steel, or related steel manufacturing.
Technical Skills
ERP systems (production modules), OEE, 5S, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, SOP development.
Leadership
Proven ability to lead teams of 50+ employees, manage shift operations, and drive cultural change.
