Position Overview
We are hiring an Area Sales Manager (ASM) to lead our Kerala operations from our Kochi headquarters. The role covers four key districts — Kochi, Calicut, Thrissur, and Malappuram — and is responsible for driving primary & secondary sales, managing distributors, and leading a field sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets across Kochi, Calicut, Thrissur, and Malappuram districts.
- Appoint, manage, motivate, and develop distributors across the Kerala region.
- Lead, train, and monitor a team of Sales Officers and Sales Executives.
- Drive primary and secondary sales while expanding numeric distribution.
- Plan and execute trade schemes, in-shop visibility drives, and merchandising activities.
- Manage collections, damage returns, claim settlements, and distributor ROI.
- Track competitor activity and submit regular market intelligence reports.
- Submit MIS reports, Daily Sales Reports (DSR), tour plans, and expense statements on time.
- Spend a minimum of 18–20 days per month in the field across the four assigned districts.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 5 to 8 years of experience in FMCG sales.
- Minimum 2 years in an ASM or TSE (Territory Sales Executive) role.
Education
- Any Graduate. MBA preferred.
Location
- Must be based in Kochi or willing to relocate to Kochi as the headquarters.
Territory Knowledge
- Strong existing distributor and retailer contacts in Calicut, Thrissur, Malappuram, and Kochi are mandatory.
Languages
- Fluency in Malayalam and English required.
Other Requirements
- Own two-wheeler or four-wheeler with a valid driving license.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: ₹35,000 – ₹60,000 per month (based on experience)
